This multiuse, easy-to-use and non-toxic liquid dye is great for dyeing natural fibers, that include cotton, linen, silk, wool, rayon or nylon. It can be used for changing the color of apparel, shoes or accessories, as well as rejuvenating faded clothing, hiding laundry accidents, home décor, creating a costume, decorating a party and so much more. With vibrant colors, this Rit Dye will give a special touch on your project and it will make your old fabric look like new. It is also a perfect product to create an ombré, dip dyed or tie dye pattern. If you do not use the whole bottle of dye in one project, you can save it for another time and the liquid will be just fine.
PLEASE NOTE: Color results vay by fabric type, amount of dye used, water temperature and time in dye bath. Not recommended for synthetic fibers (fabrics containing more than 35% polyester, acrylic or acetate.) Not recommended for fabrics with a rubber backing or labeled Cold Water Wash or Dry Clean Only. May not be effective on bleach damaged fabrics. If in doubt, teste dye a swatch first. Package color reflects approximate results when dyeing white or off-white 100% cotton.
PreparationPre-wash fabric to remove any finishes or stains. For every pound of dry fabric, use half of a bottle of dye with 3 gallons of the hottest water safe for the fabric. Dye bath must have enough water for fabric to move freely. To achieve a darker or more intense color, double dye quantity. Do not use bleach to remove color.
